MY SCREEN'S MOSTLY MIRACULOUSLY FIXED ITSELF YES. *A*
More tiny fic for you guys. Based on that latest Ousama no Buranchi (trans here) - it made me sad because Nino looked really kind of sad after Ohno ranked him last. D:
Pairing: Ohmiya... is it?
Word Count: ~280
"So you would date Jun-kun?" Ohno asks, keeping his tone light as he follows Nino back to the dressing room after the filming. Nino doesn't look back at him even once - his back is ramrod straight and his strides fast.
They reach the room. Nino immediately crosses to stuff things back into his bag, movements stiff and angry. "He's the most considerate, isn't he? It doesn't matter. Sometimes the person you would like to date," he looks back over his shoulder, eyes glittering, "isn't the same person you like."
"Nino, I'm sorry," Ohno says. "I'm sorry, Nino." There's a wall between them and an empty, falling swoop in Ohno's stomach. He remembers how Nino had leant away from him after he'd spoken, his body language rejecting Ohno completely. He can't remember the last time Nino hadn't leant into him. "Nino?"
He crosses the room and hugs Nino from behind. The other man doesn't move. Ohno thinks that he always ends up hurting Nino this way, through his own stupidity. Nino's insecurities are always the same. He hates himself because even if he knows the words will be hurtful they come out anyway. Ohno looks down at a sudden warmth; Nino's hands have covered his own clasped around Nino's waist, clutching in desperation.
"Why did you say that?" Nino says, voice cracking and small. His nails dig into Ohno's skin. "Why did it have to be you?"
Because no matter how many girlfriends Nino goes through, how many other people he tries to love, how many friends he tries to keep, he always goes back to loving Ohno against his will. It's been this way for years. Ohno doesn't have an answer. He never had one.
"Why did it have to be you?"
ok back to work. ... Or something.
