I find it sad when people put out their Christmas trees on their lawn for the garbagemen to take only a few days after Christmas is over.

(Also, now that CTY is over, I keep getting invitations to prestigious summer programs all over the place. Everything is too expensive.)

I find it sad that Christmas trees exist at all. Cutting them out just so they can be in a house where they don't belong for a few days.. and be decorated with silly things. Get plastic trees if it's so important. x_x

I feel really bad for the trees. :-(

My family outvotes me every year and we get a live tree. I give thanks to the tree and we save the trunk for future wood projects. I still feel so bad for the trees and would rather never have one in the house, cut down just so that I can look at it for a month.

Last year our neighbor put their Christmas tree outside a few days after Christmas. On New Years, we had a lot of fireworks.

Wood from tree + fireworks = Fire!

It was up in flames in seconds. They couldn't find any fire extinguishers so we ended up putting the fire out with a teapot full of water. XD;;
