Summary: And when Agito was created, Akito was quick to denounce everything.
---
1. "Boy," she said, leaning across the counter, "is everything alright? No good doing what you do if you're sick."
The boy smiled back at her, anxious fingers playing with the edges of his sleeve and dark smudges under his eyes. "I'm fine. It's just that Brother's been strange lately."
With disgust she said, "Give him my regards."
"I will." He left.
2. He was tired, but he kept running as his brother instructed him.
In the back of his mind, Akito wondered when this had stopped being fun.
And then, climax.
3. no no nonono
brother i never wanted to do this
why, why, why
The blood had been washed off, but he still saw it.
why
Betrayal.
4. The world he had known murmured and whispered, but no one said anything.
No one came forward.
Betrayal.
5. "No!" He grabbed at the metal cage, fingers scrabbling madly for purchase.
"No! I won't run anymore! I won't kill! Leave me alone!" They did, and then it was his brother.
6. Kaito grasped the boy's chin between his fingers, noting that the eyes were dilated with fear. The heart, beating faster than usual, sent vibrations through the thin chest.
"Trash," he sneered and turned away, stolidly ignoring the sob behind him.
7. The chills sweat tears nightmares did not stop.
He could not even kill himself for that man's life. His brother had left him nothing.
8. Inside my dull consciousness someone was calling for help.
For some reason I could only hear that voice clearly.
At that time I already knew that I was born for the sole purpose of protecting this one.
9. The light was dim as he stepped into the room. The weight of the glare pressing down on him was immense.
"Wanijima," the monster in the cage hissed, "my name is Agito. And I will run for you."
He did not come near the cage. And after that nobody did, because Agito had killed the first man idiotic enough to do so.
10. They were alone.
end

(AN: I swear I can write happy things! I really don't associate happiness with Akito, though - either side of his character, and I'm firmly of the opinion that that boy would need several years of therapy to be happy in the right ways. (7) details some signs of post traumatic stress disorder, which is often what leads most people into the Dissociative Identity Disorder. (8) is from vol 8, ch 64, pages 90-91.
I think that Agito must have made some kind of deal with Kaito, but it's all just idle pondering. The thing is, this character just fascinates me. I can see why he was so happy when he met Ikki - I'm thinking that everyone else was too scared of him to do anything like what Ikki did, both in going against him and then saving him.
Thanks for reading. :})

Date: 2007-02-01 01:44 am (UTC)The whole feel of the fic is that they are snapshots or scene flashes. I can imagine the events leading to Agito's appearance as a sort of movie where everything blurs so that it ends in the creation of Agito.
So...wonderful imagery for something so short.
